Expanded Nursing & Medication Support

Did you know that we have both a Nurse Prescriber and a Pharmacist as part of our clinical team? Nurse Prescriber Wenjing (left) and Pharmacist Alanis (right) work alongside our GPs to provide additional care and support for our patients.

Wenjing joined the Little London team in April 2026. Originally from China, she worked as a nurse there for two years before moving to New Zealand, where she has spent the past six years working as a practice nurse across the upper North Island. As a Nurse Prescriber, Wenjing combines her nursing experience with prescribing skills to assess and treat a range of common and acute health conditions within her prescribing scope. Working closely with the GP team, she can also support patients with ongoing medication management and repeat prescriptions for patients whose conditions have been assessed as stable. This gives patients greater access to timely care and provides another option for care between their regular GP appointments. Wenjing can prescribe medications for a range of infections and other acute conditions where GP assessment isn't required.

Alanis joined the Little London team in August 2025. Originally from Raglan, she completed her pharmacy degree at the University of Otago and has worked in several rural pharmacies throughout the Waikato. Alongside her role at Little London, Alanis is a clinical academic at the University of Waikato, where she helps develop and teach the Master of Pharmacy Practice programme. At Little London, Alanis provides medication reviews and personalised medicine advice. She works with patients and their whaanau to help them understand and use their medications, manage potential side effects, and get the best outcomes from their treatment. Her expertise is particularly valuable for people taking multiple medications or living with long-term conditions such as diabetes or asthma. Alanis can also provide advice about supplements, over-the-counter treatments, and the correct use of health devices and inhalers.

Together, Wenjing and Alanis are helping our patients feel more confident, informed and supported in managing their health. If you'd like to find out whether an appointment with one of them may be right for you, give our team a call on 07 839 5004.
